Mal Moore
Position: AD
Date of Birth: 12/19/1939
College: Alabama

Biography:
A member of Coach Paul Bryant's 1961 national championship team, Moore likes to remind fans that he was first string quarterback for two days--before Joe Namath took over the position. Moore coached football for 30 years, 22 of those at Alabama. As either a player or coach with the Crimson Tide, Moore was a part of seven national championships, 14 SEC championships and 27 bowl trips. Hired in November of 1999 as Athletics Director at his alma mater, Moore's first major task was to seek out and hire a new head football coach. His choice was Dennis Franchione. Moore is currently overseeing a $100 million fund raising campaign to pay for a comprehensive upgrading of all university athletics facilities.
