| Theo came to Bama as a defensive end, was redshirted in 1998, saw
playing time in 10 games in 1999, then moved to tight end prior to the
2000 season. He did not see game action in 2000, but was the back-up to
Terry Jones last year. He played in every game and had three starts in a
two tight end-set. He caught one pass, a 26-yarder against Vanderbilt,
and had one kickoff return for 14 yards. This spring the former “Paul
Crane Most Improved Lineman Award” winner moved to the new “W”
position and is number one in this fullback-tight end hybrid spot. Always a
hard worker in the weight room, Theo has owned four of the five tight end
records: 525 squat, 365 hang and clean, 375 incline press, and 36-inch
vertical jump.
