Biography:
Alonzo is a key to the success of Alabama’s improved offensive line play. After being wasted as a true freshman in 1999 (two games, a total of 29 snaps), he was All-SEC last year as a junior starting for the first time. This year he is pre-season All-SEC and second team All-America. Playing 708 snaps last year, most of any offensive lineman, he had 118 knock-down blocks, including a season-high 20 against Texas-El Paso. He also had double figures knock-down block games against UCLA, South Carolina, LSU, Auburn, and Southern Miss. The former prep All-America played as a back-up in every Tide game as a sophomore in 2000.
