| 2006: Led the team with five interceptions, six pass breakups and
three fumble recoveries ... Went on to finished fourth on the team with 65
tackles, including a team-high 43 solo stops, to go along with 4.5 tackles for a
loss, one sack, one caused fumble and three quarterback pressures ... Tallied
five or more tackles in seven of the 12 games and had a pass breakup in five
contests ... Second on the defense with 751 total snaps, one of just six players
to play over 700 snaps on the season ... Earned the Alabama Defensive Player of
the Week honor after the Vanderbilt game ... Defensive captain for the Florida
game.
2005: Played in 11 of the Tide’s 12 games, missing the 2006 AT&T
Cotton Bowl game ... Had starts against Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and
Florida and finished with 28 tackles, three stops behind the line (27 yards),
two sacks (24 yards), seven pass break-ups and two caused fumbles ... Earned SEC
Defensive Player of the Week honors after getting two tackles, an interception
and a blocked punt in the Tide’s 17-0 win against Mississippi State ... Had a
season-high seven tackles against Arkansas and had interceptions against South
Carolina and Mississippi State ... Earned the “Bobby Johns Most Improved
Defensive Back” award following spring practice.
2004: Played in 11 of the Tide's 12 games, missing playing time
against Arkansas with a bruised right knee ... Finished the season with 14
tackles, two stops be ind the line for six yards and one sack for five yards ...
Had two interceptions for 34 yards and 4 pass break-ups ... Had an interception
in his first collegiate game against Utah State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Briarwood Christian All-American defensive back helped
lead his school to the class 5A state title in 2003 ... Rushed for 540 yards and
six touchdowns on 98 carries in his senior year, added 21 receptions for 350
yards and one TD ... Had 60 tackles and nine interceptions, two of which he
returned for touchdowns ... Played in the U.S. Army All-America Game in San
Antonio, Texas.
PERSONAL: Son of Jean and Jeremiah Castille. His brother, Tim, also
played for the Tide as did his father (1979-82, All-American). He has a younger
brother, Caleb and younger sisters, Leah, Rachel and Danielle. Born 10-12-85. He
