| Ivan Matchett is a powerful runner with a stocky frame and uses his lower body very well while running in the hole. Matchett is very explosive when he finds some daylight, and has good vision to get a cutback lane. Good balance, good yards after first contact, and can find the corner pretty well. Getting his pad level lower and not stopping in the hole are two areas he could strengthen. |

For Matchett's senior season he was awarded ASWA All-State First Team and listed on the Press Register's Elite 18.
Matchett carried the ball 230 times for 2,059 yards and 25 touchdowns during his team's championship run of 2007.
Matchett rushed for 1,416 yards on 189 carries and scored 22 touchdowns during his junior campaign. He was Class 5A Honorable Mention All-State (ASWA) for his performance.
