| Four-year letterman and three-year starter at Troup HS in LaGrange. Primarily a running back. He also saw some action as a defensive back and on kick-off returns.
Rushed for 1,630 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. Named the Area Offensive Player of the Year by the LaGrange Daily News.
Played in the Georgia North-South All-Star Game.
Ran for 1,110 yards in his junior season and gained approximately 800 yards as a sophomore with one kick-off return for a touchdown. Team advanced to the state play-offs all four years.
Three-year All-County selection. First-team All-State by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and was named to the paper’s list of the top prospects in Georgia.
HS Coach Tommy Walburn Comments: Demetrius is an all-around back. He’s strong, can run between the tackles with power or outside with speed. He has really good hands and can return kicks.
Two-year member of his high school track team.
