Mark Barron can expect a busy day Saturday, and he’s probably looking forward to it. The Alabama safety leads the Southeastern Conference in interceptions with six through 10 games. While most observers consider Alabama’s Saturday game against Chattanooga to be a breather, the Crimson Tide coach is not among them. He speaks of the Mocs improving by five wins in one season. Others might point out that Chattanooga is 6-4 with a new coach because of a 1-9 record last year.   Full Story

Greg McElroy was everyone’s favorite whipping boy for a few weeks. As Alabama struggled to score touchdowns, everyone from national media and local fans were pointing to McElroy’s lack of production. One thing that didn’t change, though, was McElroy and teammates producing victories.   Full Story

Alabama is working on a season to remember. Crimson Tide Coach Nick Saban wants to make sure that this week doesn’t produce the game that wipes out all the good memories. Bama has worked its way up to second in the Associated Press poll and in the Bowl Championship Series standings.   Full Story

It is gratifying that Alabama remains second in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings, but it really isn't critical that the Tide is second rather than third. With apologies to coaches everywhere, it may not matter where you are until the end of the season, but you can't get to where you want to be unless you are in position. Bama is in position, which means in one of the top three spots.   Full Story

There are a million examples in sports when statistics did not pan out. The very best major league team will lose over 50 games. The Jets win the Super Bowl.
