While Darren Myles continues to deny a leader, he says he likes LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee - because those are the six he's already visited and they've all offered. "I (also) plan on visiting some schools up north," Myles said. "I'll go to Michigan, Ohio State and Purdue and maybe even Notre Dame. I'd like to go and check out West Virginia as well..."

Darren Myles, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound three-star safety from Carver High School in Atlanta, Ga., was born and raised in New Orleans, La., and says he grew up following LSU.

"That's my hometown team," Myles said. "I stayed in Louisiana until I was 12 years old and that's always been my team.

"I love the tradition they have and how they can get the best out of their players," he said. "They always produce great athletes every year."

While Myles continues to deny a leader, he says he likes LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee - because those are the six he's already visited and they've all offered. Clemson, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Purdue, West Virginia, Michigan and Georgia Tech are some of Myles' other rides.

"Georgia is only about one and half hours from my house and I really like (defensive coordinator) coach Willie Martinez a lot," he said. "He was one of the first people to recognize my talent and started recruiting my during my sophomore year. I went to their camp that summer and have developed a good relationship with him."

Another coach that Myles has a good relationship with is Florida running back coach Kenny Carter. "I like him a lot," Myles said. "He's a nice guy. We talk about everything and I feel like I can talk to him about anything.

"I also like that Florida wins a lot and won the national championship a few year ago," he said. "The SEC is a tough conference and Florida is always in it. Next year I think Georgia has a really good shot to win it. They have one of the top defenses in the country.

"LSU is always in the mix too," Myles said. "And Tennessee has got some great talent. I know a few guys who went there and I like Tennessee a lot.

"I think Alabama has a chance to surprise some people and I think they'll do pretty good next year. Coach Nick Saban has done a great job there," he said.

The schools with the facilities that have impressed Myles the most are Alabama and Tennessee. "I love the weight room and facilities they both have," he said. "They pretty much have the best facilities I've seen."

Myles, Scout.com's No. 28 safety, doesn't plan on attending any camps this summer but hopes to visit a few other schools as well. "I plan on visiting some schools up north," he said. "I'll go to Michigan, Ohio State and Purdue and maybe even Notre Dame.

"I'd like to go and check out West Virginia as well," he aded.

"I don't really know too much about Ohio State or Michigan," he said. "But they both have great tradition and seem to win a lot each year. They both go to the big bowl games and I really feel comfortable with the coaches at Michigan. I've gotten to know them a little more than the Ohio State coaches.

"I like coach Rich Rodriguez and think they'll have a good year," Myles said. "He's very confident and I like that."

Myles says he hopes to name a top five in July. "But I'll take all of my official visits before I decide," he said. "I want to feel like I'm at home and be comfortable with all the coaches and players.

"I really want to find a place where I'll get some early playing time too," he said.

Myles says he can bench 260-pounds, squat 550 and vertical jump 36-inches. "I'm a good tackler and have great ball skills," he said. "I play smart and am very aggressive.

"I need to work on loosening my hips and change directions faster," he said. "I run a lot and do the hurdles and a lot of footwork drills. I do drills to help my back pedal and quickness."

Myles reports a 3.2 core GPA and took the SAT on June 7. He is scheduled to take the ACT on June 14.
