Theorizing that a strong college football team one season is likely to be strong again the next, one might conclude that Alabama will be reloading, not rebuilding, in 2006. After all, the Crimson Tide posted a 10-2 record and finished ranked eighth in the nation last season. For a number of reasons, however, it is not realistic to postulate this year’s Crimson Tide as a championship contender.
