Tide Men's Basketball Suffers First Loss

The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the 2014 season, 84-74, to No. 13 Iowa State on Monday night in the semifinals rpound of the CBE Classic in Kansas City. Alabama falls to 3-1 on the year while Iowa State improves to 3-0. Bama continues play in the consolation finals Tuesday night.

The win was the third in three days for the Crimson Tide at the tournament, which lifts UA’s season record to 4-2, while the loss drops the Owls to 2-3.

One of the few good things about Alabama playing a team like Western Carolina is that players who don’t get much playing time are able to get some snaps. One of the problems Saturday was that back-up players were getting in early because Crimson Tide starters were getting hurt against the Catamounts.
