Got DTs? Both Anthony Bryant and Ahmad Childress played well in Saturday's scrimmage, clearly establishing themselves as the probable starters next season. The only real questions associated with either are "Can they slim down to the 310-pound range?" which the Tide coaches think will be essential to their effectiveness and "Can they get in good enough shape to handle the increased snaps per game?" Redshirt freshman J.P. Adams is working at defensive tackle. Behind Bryant and Childress, redshirt freshmen Jeremy Clark and Kyle Tatum have bulked up and added strength since arriving on campus.
