Official Visit to The University of Alabama comments and thoughts:
Jason's parents accompanied him on the visit to Tuscaloosa.
Jason was escorted around campus by Alabama junior forward, Chris Hines.
Campus Tour by Chris Hines - "He (Hines) showed me the facilities, the basketball court and the academic building. He showed me the atmosphere and I felt it. It was real good. I liked everything."
Impression of the facilities - "I liked the facilities. Everything looked like new and he said there was a lot of construction being done. I like it. It was nice."
Assessment of the Paul W. Bryant Academic Center – "It was great. It looks like I could spend a lot of time in the academic center and get some work done to be successful for four years."
Atmosphere in Tuscaloosa - "The A-Day crowd was crazy. We were on the field. A lot of people were taking pictures of me and showing a lot of love."
Vibes – "I'm a big vibe guy. I felt a great, great, great vibe at Alabama."
Alabama coaching staff - "They said that I would be a great fit for their program. They said I have great character to be in their program and I would fit in their offense. They think I would be able to help change the program around and have a successful basketball season. They like my shot jump, the way I run the floor, rebound and they like my game and how versatile I can be to play a lot of positions."
Alabama basketball team - "I like the players. They seem like a family. They look out for you and make sure you are having fun. I thought the players were real cool."
Commenting on the official visits to Alabama and Ole Miss – "I just think both schools are nice. I am satisfied with both of them. They both are nice places and nice towns. I think they were both great. I'm still going over things and thinking about things. I can tell you that neither school has made a jump over the top of the other. They are both still on the list and great schools."
On possible official visits to other unnamed schools - "I'm not sure yet."
Kendall Durant, Weatherford (TX) College 6'3" combo guard and recent Alabama commitment - "I met him on the visit. I got along with him very well. He's a very cool dude."
Head Coach Anthony Grant – "He's a great guy. I like talking to him. He has a great personality and is somebody I could be around."
Assistant Coach Antoine Pettway – "That is my dude. Coach Pettway and I have a great relationship. We've been talking since last summer so him and I kind of know each other well because he has been recruiting me for a long time. He'll be a big part of the reason why if I decide to go to Alabama, he'll be a big part of the reason.
Carter intends to sign by the May 19th spring signing deadline.
