Chris Jackson transferring from Alabama

Posted Jul 15, 2009

Scout.com has confirmed wide receiver Chris Jackson is no longer with the University of Alabama football team.

Scout.com has known for weeks of Chris Jackson contemplating a transfer from Tuscaloosa. He has not officially transferred to any school, but is no longer a member of the Crimson Tide.

It has been confirmed Jackson plans to meet with Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson next Monday.

Jackson was rated a four-star wide receiver from Henry County High School in McDonough, Ga., who signed with Alabama in the No. 1 recruiting class in 2008.

The talented wide out started in all 12 games on special teams for the Crimson Tide, and one of 16 true freshmen who saw action last season.

Jackson was a starter on special teams where he recorded five tackles on kick-off coverage, and one tackle on punt coverage.

Jackson originally committed to Georgia Tech, but switched his commitment to Alabama after Paul Johnson was hired by the Yellow Jackets.
