University of Alabama Athletics Director Mal Moore announced Monday that Milton Overton has joined the athletic department’s senior executive staff.
“I am pleased that Milton Overton will be joining our department and heading up our technology efforts,” Moore said. “He comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge and will help lead us into the future on a number of fronts. I am impressed not only with what he has accomplished to this point in his career but also with his vision and drive for what can be here at
Alabama
.”
Overton comes to Alabama after seven years at
Texas A&M
where he served as an Associate Athletics Director overseeing the Aggies’ technology growth and services. A member of the athletics senior staff, he was also a part of the department’s strategic planning efforts.
“My wife Eunice and I are excited about the opportunity to join the Crimson Tide family and can't wait to contribute to the established success of the athletics program and university at large,” Overton said. “There is no doubt that The University of Alabama is on the rise and committed to excellence evidenced by the tremendous campus growth and sustained athletic success.”
In addition to managing all aspects of A&M’s technological needs, Overton led the Aggies’ technology renovations and construction for several facilities, including Kyle Field. He also provided oversight of seven TAMU sports programs.
Overton joined Texas A&M as Assistant AD for Academic Services in 2002 before being promoted to Associate AD for Technology in 2003. He is the founder and CEO of Enki System Inc. which provides software solutions for athletic academic support programs across the country. Prior to joining the Aggie staff, Overton was Director of Academic Support at Texas Christian University where he also served as an adjunct professor.
A four-year starter on the offensive line at the University of
Oklahoma
, Overton earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from OU in 1995 and master’s degrees in both education and human relations in 1998. Overton worked in academic services and as the CHAMPS LifeSkills Coordinator for the Sooners before joining the
TCU
staff in 1999.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Overton and his wife Eunice have two sons, Micaiah Alexander and Lebbeus Thomas.
