Alabama Football Coach Nick Saban and wife Terry hosted a luncheon on Friday at the Moore Athletic Facility where approximately $350,000 was distributed to 70 charities. Since the Sabans arrived in Tuscaloosa, the Nick’s Kids Fund has helped raise over $650,000 and made a total of more than 140 donations to children’s charities throughout the state of Alabama.
Charities such as Crossing Point, Arc of Tuscaloosa and the Rise School - including the children involved in some of those programs - were invited to Friday’s luncheon.

and his wife Terry spoke to the group, took pictures, presented checks and spent time meeting all of those in attendance.
The money raised for Nick’s Kids comes from the annual golf tournament, promotions, private donations, as well as donations from Coach Saban’s speaking engagements. At Michigan State, the Sabans started the Nick’s Kids Fund, which they have continued in Tuscaloosa and is a vibrant example of their continuing concern for disadvantaged children. Last spring, over $300,000 was distributed to numerous charities and organizations through the fund.
In June of this year, the University of Alabama announced that the Nick and Terry Saban had pledged $1M to The University for first-generation scholarships. As part of a challenge program through the UA Development office, the gift could double or even triple as others contribute along with the Sabans.
