Bama's Morgan Named All-Tourney At WCWS

Charlotte Morgan was named to the 2008 Women’s College World Series All-Tournament team after an outstanding all-around effort at the plate and in the circle in Oklahoma City.



In Alabama's four games in the the WCWS, Morgan hit .308 in four games at the plate with a double, home run and four RBI. Her 19th home run of the season came in the second game of the WCWS against Arizona as she finished 3 for 3 with three RBI. Morgan was 1-0 in the circle with a complete-victory against Louisiana-Lafayette, allowing just one run with three strikeouts.

Morgan is the second Alabama player to be named to a WCWS All-Tournament team. Kelly Kretschman was selected to the 2000 WCWS All-Tournament team.

Morgan, a native of Moreno Valley, Calif., finished the season with a .417 batting average, 19 doubles, 19 home runs and 79 RBI at the plate while boasting an 18-2 record in the circle with a 1.27 ERA. Morgan’s 79 RBI set the SEC single-season record.

She was a first-team All-America and one of 10 finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.
