Alabama’s 2008 Coaching Clinic will feature some of the best to ever teach the game of football. Bill Belichick, Vince Dooley, Al Groh and Dean Pees are scheduled to speak in Tuscaloosa this year. Former Alabama standout and current Detroit Lions cornerback Fernando Bryant will also be on hand to address the coaches.

“The annual coaching clinic is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Alabama Coach Nick Saban. “This year we have a great lineup of speakers including Vince Dooley, Bill Belichick, Dean Pees, Al Groh and Fernando Bryant. We will also be featuring several of the region’s championship-winning high school coaches.”

The clinic begins on the evening of Thursday, April 3 and includes a full day of guest speakers on Friday before wrapping up on Saturday, April 5 after the Crimson Tide holds an afternoon scrimmage. Coaches interested in attending may access the registration form online at www.rolltide.com (click on football and then coaching clinic on the left hand column). The clinic fee is $45, but those who register by March 28 will receive a $5 discount. Information on area hotels is also included on the website. In addition to the full schedule of speakers, meals are included in the cost.

Belichick, who has won three Super Bowl titles as head coach of the Patriots, will address the coaches on Friday as will New England Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees. Former Georgia Coach Vince Dooley will serve as a keynote speaker on Friday. Virginia Coach Al Groh and Bryant are also on the slate along with Alabama head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide assistant coaches.
