Woodlawn Magnet High School (2-8)
Why Alabama?: "I have always been a fan of Alabama. When Coach Mike Shula was there they didn't recruit me. I went for an unofficial visit after coach Saban got there and it felt like family," Billingsley said.
On Coach Nick Saban as a recruiter: "I think Coach Saban is marvelous. He shows you there is going to be a family side, and a hard working side. He is the perfect coach."
Head Coach Pierre Goode (former Tide athlete): "Playerwise, Undra is a hard worker, good discipline, good student. He has a 4.4 already qualified. I think he's top in the class grade-point wise. I'm working with him right now to get him ready to go to college as far as strength and speed. Trying to get his speed down a little faster."
"Overall he's coachable. You don't have to sit there and use a lot of harsh words with him to get him to do what you need him to do."
"He can play on both sides of the ball. He could go to tight end and contribute real well. He could go to defensive tackle, defensive end and contribute. It's a matter of him getting there and getting with guys that are ready to work and pushing for one common goal to be a champion."
"I guess getting down there and probably like when I played there," Goode said of Billinglsey's decision to go to Alabama. "Just getting there and seeing the guys and the love that they have for one another trying to make things better for themselves as a player and off the field and in the classroom."
"He had right at 100 tackles solo. A little less from the year before. He started getting a lot of double teams and triple teams. He had about 18-19 sacks. He had about 10 of those tackles behind the line. He probably had about 11 hurry-ups."
"We moved him from middle linebacker outside to defensive tackle/nose guard. Several different positions on the defensive side. Offensively, we moved him from tight end, guard, tackle to fullback."
Bio: Billingsley had 100 tackles, with 10 for a loss of yardage. He had 18-19 sacks with 11 hurries. 2007 honorable mention ASWA All-State defensive lineman, Birmingham All-City selection. 2006 Stats: 25 catches for 475 yards and three touchdowns. He recorded 60 solo tackles, 52 assisted tackles and eight sacks on defense.
Analysis: Billingsley is a raw prospect who will need to improve his conditioning, but a very gifted athlete and intelligent. He projects as a force on the defensive front.
