Alabama will kick off the 2007 football season with its annual Fan Day at Bryant-Denny Stadium Sunday. The event includes fans being allowed to watch an open practice. There is no charge for admission. In previous years Fan Day was held in conjunction with the spring A-Day Game.

There will not be a repeat of the Alabama spring football game, when over 92,000 were on hand in Bryant-Denny to watch the A-Day Game. That's because some routine maintenance will be underway on the upper decks, so only the lower bowl of the stadium will be opened for Fan Day.

Coach Nick Saban's first Bama team will report Thursday and begin practice Friday. The Crimson Tide opens the 2007 season on September 1 hosting Western Carolina.

On Sunday, fans may enter the stadium beginning at 1:30 p.m. CDT via gates 8, 9, 10, 12, 13 and 14 on the west side and gates 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 on the east side of the stadium. At 2:30 the Tide will hold an open practice scheduled to last until approximately 4:30 p.m.

At the end of practice, fans wishing to participate in the autograph session must exit the stadium and re-enter at field level through Gate 23 (South End Zone) and will exit via Gate 23 when the session ends at 5:30 p.m.

Following practice, the Crimson Tide football team, coaching staff and Coach Nick Saban will be available for autographs on the field for 45 minutes.

There are several reasonable conditions due to time and space restraints. In an effort to facilitate as many autographs in the time allowed, fans will be limited to one item per person for autographs, and no posed photographs will be permitted. Pre-signed autographed photos of Saban will be available to fans as they enter the stadium.

Concession stands will be open at Bryant-Denny Stadium, but only bottled water will be sold. No food items will be available for sale. In addition to the festivities in the stadium, the Supply Store will be open all weekend as a part of the statewide tax holiday.

Fans may park at several locations on campus including the Ten Hoor decks and surface lots as well as the Tutwiler, Coleman Coliseum and Barnwell Hall parking lots. No special accommodations will be made for Recreational Vehicles. There will be limited parking available at Coleman Coliseum and on the grass lot on University Boulevard (RV Lot 9). Fans should log on to www.uagameday.com for further information, or access www.rolltide.com for other pertinent information.

Fan Day is subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather.
