The University of Alabama softball team extended its streak to 32 straight weeks ranked in the top-10 as they were listed No. 9 in the final USA Today/NFCA Top-25.

Alabama was in the top-10 for all 15 weeks of the 2007 season, including the preseason rankings. The Crimson Tide has been ranked in 76 consecutive polls and was listed among the five best teams in all 13 regular season polls this past season, including achieving the school’s first ever No. 1 ranking on May 2.

Alabama ended its season with a 55-10 record after losing two games at Washington in the NCAA Super Regionals. It was the third straight year the Tide won the regional championship and fifth time in school history. They faced elimination in four NCAA Regional games and battled back to win all four for the title. The Tide started the season 25-0 and reached No. 2 in the rankings, a spot they held for six total weeks on the year.

The national champion Arizona Wildcats was the No. 1 team at the end of the year after defeating Tennessee in the Women’s College World Series to finish 50-14-1. The eight WCWS participants were all listed in the top eight to end the year with Alabama the highest ranked team not to advance.
