Former Tider Gets Lucky

Former Alabama defensive Ramzee Robinson will soon find out what it's like being Paris Hilton, when he is celebrated for no real reason at all in California next week.

Former University of Alabama defensive back Ramzee Robinson has been named "Mr. Irrelevant" by The Commodores Club of the Newport Beach (Calif.) Chamber of Commerce.

The 32nd Annual Lowsman Trophy is presented to the last player taken in the National Football League draft. The Huntsville native was the 255th selection in the 207 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, thus earning him this year's award.

Started by community philanthropist Paul Salata, "Irrelevant Week" was created to honor the underdog. With the motto of "doing something nice for someone for no reason at all", "Irrelevant Week" spotlights the "last pick" in the NFL draft with a week of festivities in his honor.

Robinson will arrive in Newport Beach on Monday, June 18 for an Arrival Party and Press Conference at the Newport Dunes Resort. On Tuesday, June 19, "Mr Irrelevant" will be a special guest at Disneyland. On Wednesday, June 20, Robinson will be presented the 32nd Annual Lowsman Trophy at the All-Star Lowsman Banquet at the Newport Beach Marriott.
