Academic Status of Luther Davis

Academic Status of Luther Davis

University of Alabama signee Luther Davis, from West Monroe, (Louis.), was one of the top prospects coach Nick Saban signed in 2007. Alabama has a thin defensive line on the current roster, and it is important for all the Tide's incoming defensive lineman to qualify. Luther Davis gives us his latest academic report.

"I am six total points away from being fully qualified," Luther Davis said from West Monroe. "I have an 18 right now, and I am six points away from getting a 19 and being ready to go. "My G.P.A is good to go. I just need that 19."

Davis is taking care of business off the field as well to prepare for his summer arrival.

"I am working out hard right now. I have my own personal trainer, Al Miller. He played for the Atlanta Falcons for a while. I work with him every day doing running drills, and I also do my lifting with him. It definitely helps because I feel like I am killing myself everyday," Davis said.

"I am almost certain it will pay-off in the fall. It is going to be up to me as far as staying on my diet and working hard. When I get to Alabama I will be ready to go. I am currently at 268 (pounds)."

"I plan on visiting Tuscaloosa this weekend (March 28) for the scrimmage. If everything goes okay I will be there. I really want to go the Spring Game, but our prom is on the same day. That is going to be hard one. I don't know how that will work out."
