Keys Dismissed, Robinson Leaves Team

Posted Jun 6, 2006

Chris Keys was dismissed from the University of Alabama football team, the Alabama media relations office said in a two paragraph statement on Tuesday. Keys had been suspended for the Cotton Bowl, and missed spring training after breaking his leg in a tussle with a teammate.

The statement said that Keys was dismissed for "violating team policy." Keys was a sophomore.

The statement also said that Travis Robinson had decided to leave the University, and was no longer on the football team.

The Tuscaloosa News, on its web site, had reported earlier that Robinson was had been dismissed from the team.

Robinson had an injury-plagued career at the University of Alabama, suffering a torn ACL injury before the 2005 season.
