Sticks With Tide
"I have made my final decision," said Earl Alexander from Central-Phenix City. "I am sticking with Alabama. To be quite honest, I made my final decison once I committed to Alabama." "I wanted to take an official visit to Auburn to make sure I made the right decision. Auburn is a great school. They have a great offense that I could see myself playing in. One Auburn coach asked me why would I not come to Auburn. I didn't have an answer for him because I liked everything." "I always said once I made my commitment--I would stick with it. I saw the situation at quarterback and receiver at Alabama. I felt I could compete with those guys. I made up my mind. Auburn is a great program, but I felt more comfortable at Alabama and more at home." Alexander informed the Alabama coaching staff Sunday night of his decision and stated, "I called coach [Mike] Shula, coach Cheese [Charlie Harbison] and coach [Dave] Rader last night. They were asking me about my visit. I told them how it was, and I told them I was coming to Alabama." "The Alabama coaches have always been great to me. I am looking forward to working with them next year." When asked the time he plans to fax his signing papers to the University of Alabama Alexander replied, "We are having a ceremony at our school at 9:30am (EST). I'm sure my papers will be in Tuscaloosa before then."
