Making Plans for December
"I am set to return to Alabama in December," Ford said. He has been a star on the gridiron as well. Ford was in Tuscaloosa for the LSU game for his official visit. "I had a really good time this weekend," said Mike Ford. "It felt good to be back in my future home in Tuscaloosa. I thought we played a really good game. The crowd and I both thought there were a lot of missed calls on the field." "You win some, and you lose some. Our heads were still up after the loss. We still have a chance to make it to a big bowl. At least we are still going to a bowl game," Ford added. Ford played the role of recruiter for the Tide on Saturday as Alabama hosted several of the nation's top prospects. "I did hang with some of the recruits," Ford said. "[Tim] Tebow, [Brandon] Spikes and [Stephen] Wesley. I hung out with a couple of recruits from Texas as well. I told them if they sign they have made the best choice ever and will enjoy those three or four years of their life. The fans and coaches treat you good." The Alabama coaching staff has stayed in close contact with their future ball carrier, and Ford is very thankful for his future coaches. "The coaches will never change," he said. "They will always be nice and respectful and tell you right from wrong. They are truthful and never lie about anything and love to have fun with their players. They make sure everything is good with you. They also most important stay on top of your grades." Ford spent his weekend with player host Alabama cornerback Travis Robinson. He enjoyed spending time with several of his future teammates. Ford said, "We all hung out and went to a couple of parties. We chilled, laughed and had fun. I had a great time this weekend." Ford was named Class 5A Mr.Football in the state of Florida in 2004 and rushed for over 2,800 yards. Ford put up impressive numbers at Hargrave as well. "My stats here at Hargrave were impressive even to myself," said Ford. "I had 70 carries for over 900 hundred yards. We are National Champions here at Hargrave. Thanks to my coaches and players."
