Harper is one of 12 semi-finalists for the award which will be announced from Disney World in Orlando, Florida on December 8, 2005.
Harper is 7th all-time at Alabama with 285 career tackles. He moved past Robbie Jones (1979-82) on the all-time list with two stops last week at Miss. State. Harper is third among active SEC defenders with 285 career tackles.
In nine games this season, Harper is the second-leading tackler with 52 total stops. He has also added one sack, 4.5 TFLs, two forced fumbles, one interception (50 yds) and one PBU.
Harper had six tackles and the biggest play of the game in the win over Tennessee on Oct. 22. With the game tied at 3-3 late in the game and the Vols inside the Bama 15-yard line, Harper hit Tennessee fullback Cory Anderson at the UA four-yard line and forced a fumble that rolled through the end zone for a touchback.
