Winston's agent, Lou Fabiano, declined comment from Winston about the draft, University of Alabama assistant media relations director Becky Hopf said in a brief statement late Tuesday night.
When the draft ended at about 10:45 p.m., Kennedy Winston's party at Wings in Mobile was left with nothing to celebrate.
"If it goes differently and I fall into the second round I have to deal with it,” he said earlier in the week.
Now Winson will most likely have to deal with the difficult-to-travel free agent route to the NBA.
Winston decided to forgo his senior season at Alabama for a chance to pursue a professional career. He said before the draft that he was "very confident" he would be a first-round choice.
Winston averaged 17.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last season.
The last Alabama player to be drafted was Mo Williams, selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft (47th pick overall). Williams played in 57 games for the Jazz in his rookie campaign, and started 80 games for the bucks last year.
