Alabama Linebacker is Wide Open

Tim Rawlinson, from Prattville High School, is one of the best defensive players in Alabama for the Class of 2006. He was named MVP of the Junior All-Star game held in December. Several SEC schools are showing strong interest.

"I am receiving mail from Auburn, LSU, and Alabama. Auburn has been sending me the most mail. I have not received any offers," said Tim Rawlinson.

At this point, Rawlinson remains open with his college choices.

"I don't really have any favorites right now. I am looking at all the schools."

Rawlinson's schedule has prevented him from attending any spring practices. "I was going to go down to Auburn this weekend, but I didn't go. I think I am going to go to Auburn's A-day game next weekend."

After putting up some impressive numbers as a junior, there was a good reason the Prattville standout was selected to participate in the All-Star game.

"This past season I had 159 tackles with 12 sacks and one interception. I was named All-County, All-Metro, and All-State by the Montgomery Advertiser. I also played in the Junior All-Star game. I was named Most Valuable Player in the game after I recorded 12 tackles," said Rawlinson.

Prattville had a magical season, losing one game, but that one game was in the state championship against Hoover. The team will lose several seniors, but Rawlinson is hoping to lead his team back to Legion Field.

"We are going to try it again. We have to build a new team since we are losing a bunch of guys. Hopefully, a lot of our new players will step up. It was great to finish the season undefeated, but I want to go back and win the state championship this year."

Rawlinson has excellent speed, and knows what makes him a dominating player. He knows what he would like to improve to make him a better college prospect.

"I don't ever really get blocked, and I am really good at tackling. The thing I would most like to improve is my speed. I want to run under a 4.5 forty."

When asked about his college decision, Rawlinson replied, "I am looking for the college that will help me succeed the most after I graduate."

Over the past few years, Prattville High School has served as a pipeline to Alabama, but Rawlinson believes his former teammates will not have any influence on his decision.

"I don't really think they will have any influence on me. I don't really talk to Roman (Harper) at all. Kyle Tatum, Travis McCall, and Bobby Greenwood have talked to me about it, but I don't think it will influence my decision."

Rawlinson plans to attend summer camps at Auburn, Alabama and Florida State.
