Nashville Receiver Sikes Signs with Tide

Nashville two-way player Travis Sikes signed with Alabama on Wednesday.

Travis Sikes, 6-4, 190 pounds, played safety and wide receiver at Class 1A Christ Presbyterian Academy. As a receiver he had 52 receptions for 957 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior year, including a 13-catch, 220-yard performance against 5A Murfreesboro Riverdale. Sikes also played basketball for Christ Presbyterian.

Sikes told VandyMania.com on January 16 that he received offers to grayshirt at Alabama and Colorado. He was also recruited by Louisville and Georgia.

Sikes committed to Alabama last Wednesday, January 26. He said he chose Alabama because "the tradition. I felt like I was already part of the program."

Sikes has a 3.1 grade point average and a score of 22 on the ACT.
