Birmingham TE Hoke Signs Will Wear Crimson

Alabama signed a much needed tight end in Briarwood Christian's Charles Hoke on Wednesday.

Hoke, a 6-7 240-pound tight end from Birmingham and a three-star prospect by Scout.com

Hoke had 57 receptions for 945 yards and seven touchdowns in Alabama's Class 5A as a junior and 42 catches, 600 yards and four TDs as a senior. He said he chose Alabama because of "the atmosphere, coaches and players. It was the right place for me."

Hoke told BamaMag.com he plans to enroll at Alabama in the first summer semester. He reported a 4.4 grade point average and a score of 31 on the ACT.

Hoke publicly committed to Alabama on November 16, 2004.
