Brandon Fanney and Lorenzo Washington spent the 2004 season at Hargrave Military Academy after not meeting Alabama's admissions requirements.
I can't wait to get to Alabama. I have learned a lot up here at Hargrave, but it's
about time we got to Tuscaloosa," Fanney said. "My grades are very good. I am going to graduate May 28. I think next year
I will be able to make an immediate impact at Alabama. I am training a lot. I am
getting bigger, faster, and stronger. Hopefully, I will be able to go in next fall
Last year, Washington made a huge publicity splash when he chose Alabama over Georgia
on Countdown to Signing Day. Washington said his academic status is in good order as well.
"I got my SAT score up to 980. I am passing all of my classes. I have all A's
and B's. I will graduate with Brandon May 28," he said. "I will be in Tuscaloosa in June. I
just can't wait. I really can't explain how happy I am," said Washington."
"It will be a really good day for Alabama.
This year's class looks really good and before long we will be playing for a National
Championship," Washington said.
The Alabama coaching staff focused on several recruits yet to commit in the past months,
but they have not forgotten about their two stud defensive lineman at Hargrave.
Fanney and Washington have kept up with the Alabama recruiting class on Scout.com.
They are impressed with the class Coach Shula has put together for the class of
"The class looks really good. I haven't seen them play, but I see on BamaMag.com
a lot of four and three star guys. All of the guys look very good," said Fanney.
