Travis McCall
, from Prattville High School, originally signed with the class of 2004. McCall needed to improve his grades in order to qualify. He is spending this year at Prattville High School and is on track to qualify. He will count as a signee for the class of 2005.
Travis McCall
was in Tuscaloosa (1/21), for his official visit.
"The visit went real good. I had a great time. It was different from last year. It was a lot better. Everything about it was better. The coaches were really good to me. I was able to meet a few more players," said McCall.
"My player host was
Chris Harris
. We also hung out Le'ron McClain a lot. I got to hang out with
Nick Walker
and
D.J. Hall
. We all had a real good time together," McCall added.
Last year, Coach
Mike Shula
did an excellent job in his first year of recruiting. McCall likes what he sees this year too.
"It's a real good class. They got a lot of good guys this year. I think it's just as good as last year. They are still after a few top guys. I really don't know about Bobby (former teammate
Bobby Greenwood
). In my opinion, I think it's between
Alabama
and
Florida State
," said McCall.
When asked about position, McCall replied, "It's still up in the air right now. I'm either going to play tight end or defensive end. It doesn't matter to me at all, which position I play. I have been working out really hard and getting ready. I am 6-2, 258 pounds now."
McCall is anxious to finally get to Tuscaloosa. He has high hopes for next season.
"I am going to have to wait until June before I can get there. It should be a bright, bright future for Alabama. We have a lot of guys returning next year from injuries. We should be really good," replied McCall.
