Tide Welcomes Big DB

As expected, Lionel Mitchell made a commitment to Alabama this weekend. Mitchell is a tall defensive back prospect that became a hot name at Hargrave Military Academy this year.

As expected, Lionel Mitchell made a commitment to Alabama on his official visit.

"He told me he was going to commit while he was there," said Hargrave Head Coach Robert Prunty moments ago.

Mitchell is a 6-1 defensive back prospect that shined at Hargrave this year after spending his senior season at Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain Georgia.

Coach Randolph came to see Mitchell at Hargrave's combine last week.

Mitchell will begin his career at Alabama at corner, but he could play free safety as well.

Mitchell will be joined by Hargrave teammates Brandon Fanney and Lorenzo Washington at Alabama in the Class of 2005.
