2004 Signee Ready to Make an Impact

With the recent academic causalities from the 2004 signees, it was time to hear some news from JUCO transfer defensive tackle Chris Turner.

Chris Turner, a defensive tackle who played last year at Northwest Mississippi Community College, is a crucial signee to Alabama's 2004 signing class.

"Everything has been going fine. I'm trying to finish this college algebra class so I can get to Alabama," Turner said.

When asked if Turner had graduated, a requirement by the way, for Turner to enroll at the University of Alabama, Turner replied, "Yes, I have graduated. I have to take this college algebra class before I can enroll at Alabama. I have a B in the class."

"It (the class) ends in about seven more days. When I get finished, I am Bama bound."

Turner has been staying in contact with the Alabama coaches and said, "I talk to Coach Woods about once or twice a week. I'm so ready to get down there. They sent me a work-out program, and I have been working-out everyday. I'm ready to get there so I can contribute."

Turner feels he can come in and make an immediate impact. "If I get a chance to come in and play, I think I will prove myself to everyone," Turner added.

"Coach Shula is a young coach. I feel like we will all grow together. I believe we will win a SEC Championship and be playing in a big bowl game very soon," Turner replied when asked about the future of the Crimson Tide.
