Trent Davidson is committed to Alabama, and he took his official visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend.

Trent Davidson, an Alabama commit, returned from his official visit to Alabama and said, "It went great. It was a very good visit. I had a great host (Clint Johnston). He is a very good Christian guy. It was the first time I got to put on a crimson jersey. Running out on the field and hearing the fight song was great. You think about the guys who have played here and who have run the same tunnel and it's just an honor."

It may have been a small group but the activities remain the same. Davidson said, "We ate at Wings on Friday night and went out with the player host. Saturday, we toured the campus and went to the Bryant Museum. We had a good breakfast and lunch. Then we went to the stadium and did the whole jersey thing. Sunday, I met with Coach Ungerer and Coach Shula."

Recruiting is about "done" for the Crimson Tide and Davidson is thrilled with this recruiting class. "I don't know how all the qualification status is going right now but we are really looking good. So far, it is really great," Davidson added.

This is Alabama's last recruiting class to be under the cloud of probation and will be able to sign the full 25 next year. Davidson added, "People always want to criticize Alabama because of the probation problems we had. You can look at this year's recruiting class and people will see all the athletes and see that Alabama is on the way to being back where it used to be. Coach Shula's goal is to have Alabama back on top."

The key to many recruits this year has been the ability of Coach Shula & Co. to sell Alabama. Davidson replied, "The Alabama coaching staff has never criticized any other school. They are just trying to sell Alabama and how things are starting to turn around for the good."

Davidson had not heard the news of the commitment of his newest teammate, Keith Brown, and replied, " I was really hoping he would (commit). He is another addition to our class, we needed another receiver. That is just great!"

It has been discussed by many what position Davidson will play the next four years. Obviously, the coaching staff knows what they like in Davidson and will use him accordingly. Davidson said, "Yes, definitely TE. They have to have one or two of us come in and play next year. So, I'm going to work really hard."

Qualifying...no problem.."Yes, National Honor Society, 24 ACT, 3.4 GPA," added Davidson.
