Five campers talk Tide
Class of 2015 Zach Branner | 6-foot-5, 328 lbs | OL | New Market (Ala.) Buckhorn Finally adding offers to his name during the summer camp circuit, the in-state force seemingly continued a hot-streak while in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, especially with offensive line coach Mario Cristobal. "Coach Cristobal really liked me," he said. "He said I had a great day and that I made a name for myself. I beat a JUCO defensive tackle, I had a great day. They told me they wanted to look over today's film and then coach will let me know." Branner has camped at both Alabama and Auburn, now, for the second straight summer. "The coaching staff showing excitement for me stood out," he said. "And the fact that they were excited for me to perform and loved how I did. They singled out my punch and finishing." Josh Williams | 6-foot-4, 305 lbs | OL | Irondale (Ala.) Shades Valley Shades Valley is one of the more popular high schools in the state in terms of talent and winning over the last two years, but Williams transferred in and already has a spot up front to his name. He was at ‘Bama looking to progress toward his first offer. "It went pretty good, I went out and showed how underrated I was," he said. "But still didn't get an offer. So I'm disappointed. "They (the coaches) said they were impressed on how well I can move to be my size. I have got to keep grinding, I guess." Williams says UAB could be the program to break the ice. Class of 2016 Lyndell Wilson | 6-foot-3, 225 lbs | OLB | Montgomery (Ala.) Carver The state's top rising-junior and Scout five-star didn't work out at the camp, but still garnered enough attention in Tuscaloosa. "It was great, the coaches really weren't saying anything, I was just really hanging around," he said. "I liked how everyone treated me, they really want me there. I can tell by the love they're showing. "Kirby Smart and the recruiting assistants were with me the most." Wilson didn't get the chance to chat with ‘Bama freshman and former Carver running mate Shaun Hamilton, who was back in Montgomery, but he did catch up with the state's top 2015 talent. "I talked to Daron Payne a little bit, we were just talking about the camp we both went to," he said. Antwuan Jackson | 6-foot-3, 260 lbs | DT | Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove Bryson Allen-Williams was a four-star linebacker the Tide coveted in 2014, and now his little brother has an offer as well. Jackson is quite familiar with Tuscaloosa. "It was great, I liked the tempo of the camp," he said. "I was just getting a good glimpse at what college football is going to be like." Another Smart recruit, the rising-junior felt he stood out among those in attendance. "I did great, they like how I performed today," he said. "They were glad I made it to ‘Bama." Shawndarius Jennings | 6-foot-2, 200 lbs | DB | Dadeville (Ala.) Speaking of little brothers, Anfernee Jennings' is also no stranger to the program. "It was pretty good, I didn't work out, I just walked around and talked to some coaches and some players," he said. "The coaches said they want me to go back for camp on the 13th (of July). So I'll be up there. " Still looking for his first offer, the athlete is already a three-star on Scout. "I talked to Coach Kirby (Smart), Coach (Kevin) Steele and Coach (Nick) Saban, they all said that they'll be watching me this summer," Jennings said. "They were happy about my brother, he was cutting up at the camp." The elder Jennings is a current Alabama commitment, could the younger one join him at the next level?
