We at BamaMag.com are always looking to satisfy our members, the consumer, in order to cover the players, trends and topics that you want to know about -- some more directly than others.
So last week, we came up with a poll within the premium member forum and one in the free member forum asking the same question:
Who was the most important recruit for Alabama in the class of 2015?
The results have been tabulated after seven days of voting, and the winner is dependent on the audience. Premium members went with Deionte Thompson, the No. 2 safety in the entire class and longest-standing Crimson Tide commitment. He edged the state of Alabama's top prospect, Daron Payne, by a 62-39 margin.
However, in the free forum, it was Payne with the nod, as the larger group of members tabbed him over Thompson by a tally of 63-16. If the votes are added up for each prospect, Payne still holds the edge over Thompson, by a 102-78 margin for those that voted.
After that, combined votes tabbed four-star cornerback commitment Minkah Fitzpatrick (38 votes) next in line, followed by five-star JUCO RB prospect Jovon Robinson (24) and four-star quarterback Zach Gentry (18). Five-stars Martez Ivey and Trenton Thompson along with four-stars Calvin Ridley and Matthew Burrell also received multiple votes in the polls.
Below is the complete tally, taken Wednesday afternoon at noon CST. Numbers in parenthesis indicate votes tabulated from the free forum.
Deionte Thompson 62 (16) - 78
Daron Payne 39 (63) - 102
