And with that, Alabama's No. 1 recruiting class of 2015 has another notch on the belt in Christian Bell.
The Hoover (Ala.) standout defensive end, who helped the Bucs to back-to-back Class 6A state championship seasons, announced his commitment four days after his last trip to Tuscaloosa, made for A-Day on Saturday. It was his third trip to campus over the last month or so.
At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Bell is currently a three-star defensive end prospect on Scout.com, and the No. 42 prospect at his position nationally within the class. He becomes the third projected defensive end on the commitment list, joining fellow in-state prospect and three-star Anfernee Jennings and four-star Mekhi Brown of Georgia. Brown has been committed to the Crimson Tide for more than a year.
Alabama has landed five commitments in as many days, all projected to play defense by Scout. Nick Saban and company project Bell to play linebacker, most likely at the SAM position within the Crimson Tide defense.
In the 2014 cycle, Alabama landed Bell's Hoover teammate and five-star cornerback Marlon Humphrey and punter Tuck Borie is also expected to walk-on from the high school power at Alabama.
BamaMag.com will have much more from this developing story. Footage from Bell at Birmingham's Nike camp last month is available below.
