Yeldon Again Gets Dixie Howell Award

Does T.J. Yeldon get to retire the Dixie Howell Award? The junior tailback won the award for the third consecutive year as the most valuable player in the A-Day Game.

T.J. Yeldon led all Alabama runners in the game with 11 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown, and won the award selected by sportswriters covering the game in spite of playing on the losing team. Yeldon also had nine yards on one pass reception.

Also selected by sports reporters, linebacker D.J. Pettway of the White Team and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen of the Crimson Team were voted co-winners of the Dwight Stephenson Lineman of the Game Award given to the game's most valuable lineman. Pettway intercepted a pass and returned it 29 yards for a touchdown for the winning White team's first touchdown. Allen was in on six tackles, including four behind the line for 18 yards in losses.
