Scout.com Working To Restore Forums
Posted Feb 24, 2014
When BamaMag.com and the rest of the Scout.com network had problems with our forums a week or so ago, we noted that we were happy it hadn't happened on Signing Day. Now it's happened again and all we can do is apologize.
To say that the Scout.com engineering team is aware of the problem is an understatement. The engineers have been working non-stop to get the message boards back up as quickly as possible while at the same time looking forward to the permanent fix that is needed.
The good news is the company that purchased Scout.com (NAMG) is putting millions of dollars into upgrading the entire system so that it will be state-of-the art. We understand that doesn't help
fans on this site today but it will prevent outages like we have had this month.
This is an update from the Scout.com Network:
We apologize for the forums issues this past week. They arise from having to replace obsolete hardware that had not been updated under previous ownership. These updates had originally been planned for after NCAA basketball season, to minimize intrusiveness, but we obviously now will be accelerating this work. We will do whatever it takes to provide stability, speed and capacity, but will err on the side of getting things right for the long haul as opposed to a Band-Aid approach.
And, of course, our apologies from BamaMag.com
