'Bama lands Ledbetter

6-foot-4, 271-pound Atlanta-area defensive line prospect Jonathan Ledbetter announced a verbal commitment to Alabama on Saturday evening. The junior is already considered a three-star prospect on Scout.com.

During a busy official visit weekend for the class of 2014 prospects at Alabama, it was a pair of class of 2015 stories that dominated the day Saturday.

Hours after losing the verbal commitment of Ricky Town, who eventually committed to USC on the same day, Alabama landed Georgia defensive line prospect Jonathan Ledbetter.

The early three-star out of Tucker (Ga.) High School also held offers from Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and most of the SEC in addition to Alabama. Scout currently pegs him as the No. 30 defensive tackle prospect in the junior class.

Ledbetter is the third Peach State commitment for Alabama in the class, joining Columbus (Ga.) Carver defensive end Mekhi Brown and Atlanta (Ga.) Mays offensive lineman Dallas Warmack on the commitment list.
