Former Alabama football star Major Ogilvie and former Crimson Tide and major league baseball star…
'Tis The Season For Best Wishes
The new thing in Nick Saban's life is the first grandchild for him and Ms. Terry. Otherwise, it's pretty much business as usual for the Alabama head football coach. Bama recruiting has been best in the nation, perhaps the best that's ever been, with Saban taking just about every conveyance short of a sleigh to make his rounds to good prospects. He has been having visions of Sugar Bowls dancing in his head as he gets the Crimson Tide ready to play Oklahoma on Jan. 2.
Just before his players had the opportunity to head home for Christmas (they'll reconvene in New Orleans Friday for practice), Saban shared his message of the season with supporters of The University of Alabama.
He said, "I'd like to wish each and every one of you a very happy holiday season. I hope God blesses you and your family so you really have a happy holiday. The holidays are a great time for people to get together and show appreciation for relationships you have with your family and your friends, certainly, something that we all should look forward to especially at Christmas. Wishing everybody a happy holiday season."
We join in that sentiment to everyone, and particularly those of you who include this as part of your community, a place where you can share in the joy (mostly) of being supporters of the Crimson Tide.
We wish you and yours all the best in this holiday season.
We also wish joy and happiness to all the Crimson Tide coaches, athletes, administrators, staff, and student assistants who toil throughout the year for our enjoyment.
We thank the coaches and athletes for sharing their stories with us for you through BamaMag.com and 'BAMA Magazine. We get valuable assistance from the men and women in the athletics media relations office headed by Doug Walker and at Bryant Museum under the direction of Ken Gaddy.
We wish the best for those who work with us in bringing you the stories and pictures – John Garcia, Jr., Stuart McNair, Cary L. Clark, A.P. Steadham, Charlie Potter, Andrew Varble II, Benjamin Cohen, and Mitch Dobbs.
There are dozens and dozens of Scout personnel who keep us going, and we wish them all a Merry Christmas.
We hope that you are fortunate enough to be with family at this time of the year, and that those who must travel do so safely.
As we celebrate, let us also remember the less fortunate...Good Will to All.
And, of course, a Happy New Year, starting with a Sugar Bowl victory on Jan. 2.
