C.J. Mosley has a reputation as a versatile, savvy linebacker known for terrorizing offenses. Yesterday in the 38-17 take down of LSU (7-3, 3-3) at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, he displayed additional skills on a fourth-down fake punt executed in the third quarter.
The Theodore (AL) native took a direct snap at the Tide's own 41-yard line and made an inside hand-off to safety Jarrick Williams sweeping left to right for a successful six-yard gain around the end on a 4th and two. Mosley had his usual stellar game leading Alabama with 12 tackles, 7 solo. The fifty-one person panel of Butkus Award selectors composed of scouts, coaches and journalists, had to be impressed with the performance of the 2013 semifinalist candidate against the 10th rated LSU Tigers.
