Collins, Alabama Defense Shut Down Arkansas

Alabama defeated Arkansas two consecutive years by a score of 52-0, the second time since 1973-74 the Tide has shutout the same SEC opponent in succession. Mississippi State was the prior victim in a pair of 35-0 wins over the Bulldogs. Safety Landon Collins contributed two tackles, four solo, two pass breakups and one quarterback hurry in the victory over the SEC Western Division foe.

Arkansas came into the game averaging 370.9 yards of total offense per game. Alabama limited the Razorbacks to 256 total yards on 64 plays. The Hawgs 25th ranked rushing offense (216.3 ypg) finished with only 165 yards on 39 attempts. Four year shutout streaks by the Tide have been achieved against Auburn (1959-62) and Mississippi State (1959-62).
