Tide LB Freezes Rebel Offense

Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley discusses the defensive success the Crimson Tide had in Saturday's win over Ole Miss.

Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has a reputation for being an offensive guru. The Rebels came into yesterday's contest averaging 38.0 ppg. The Alabama defense prevented the SEC Western Division foe from registering a single point in the 25-0 win at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. C.J. Mosley was one of the leaders orchestrating the virtuoso performance with seven tackles, three solo and one pass breakup.

The normally quiet senior Alabama linebacker voiced his displeasure to teammates with last week's effort against Colorado State. His pointed statements were heeded by the rest of the defense. Ole Miss running back Jeff Scott entered the game with 330 yards rushing on 35 carries for a phenomenal 9.4 yards per attempt. He finished the evening with 28 yards on 8 carries and a substandard 3.5 yards per attempt. The Rebels recorded a paltry 46 total rushing yards on 25 carries.

C.J. Mosley and company executed brilliantly in registering Bama's first shutout of the 2013 season. The All-American spoke to reporters post-game.
