Top Performers Against Rams

Receivers on offense and linebackers on defense were among the seven Alabama players selected by the Crimson Tide coaching staff for recognition as Bama's players of the week in the 31-6 win over Colorado State.

Alabama coaches selected wide receivers DeAndrew White and Christion Jones on offense and linebackers C.J. Mosley and Trey DePriest on defense. The special teams players of the week were Landon Collins, Altee Tenpenny, and Kenyan Drake.

Christion Jones had career bests of nine catches for 90 yards for the Tide in the win over Colorado State. DeAndrew White had only two catches, but they were for 65 yards, one leading to the Tide's first touchdown, and one coming on the play after Bama had recovered a fumble by the Rams and covering 30 yards from quarterback A.J. McCarron.

That fumble was caused and recovered by Trey DePriest and came when the Tide had only a 17-6 lead at Bryant-Denny Stadium. DePriest was in on six tackles for Bama. C.J. Mosley led Alabama defensively with nine tackles, including one for lost yardage, and had two quarterback pressures.

Perhaps the biggest play of the game was turned in by Kenyan Drake. Alabama had forced a punting situation and Drake went up the middle and blocked the punt. It was picked up by Dillon Lee and run in for a touchdown. Landon Collins had four tackles and Altee Tenpenny had a tackle on special teams to join Drake as special teams honorees.
