Bama Basketball Falls In Finale

PARIS, France – The Alabama men’s basketball team fell to Rouen, 76-72, on Saturday afternoon at the Stade de Paris Coubertin. It was the final game of the Crimson Tide’s 2013 European Tour, as it finished the five-game, 10-day trip with a 3-2 record.

The contest was close throughout, featuring nine ties and five lead changes. Rouen hit 10 three-pointers for the contest, including a couple of clutch treys late in the game, to secure the victory. The Tide led by a score of 60-58 early in the fourth quarter, however, Rouen outscored Alabama 15-7 over the next 6:44 and led 73-67 with 2:48 left.

UA was able to whittle the deficit to one, 73-72, at the 1:32 mark, but could not get any closer.

Nick Jacobs (14 points and 7 rebounds) and Rodney Cooper (14 points and nine rebounds) combined for 28 points and 16 boards in the loss. Levi Randolph added 12 points and six rebounds, while Retin Obasohan went for 11 points off the bench.

The team was set to depart Paris early Sunday morning and arrive in Tuscaloosa on Sunday afternoon.
