Nation's No. 1 visiting T-town

Nation's No. 1 visiting T-town

Alabama always aims high in recruiting, but its never been able to sign the nation's top overall prospect in the Nick Saban era. The 2014 cycle has a new face at No. 1, and the Tide will have a chance to make an impression on him and a teammate on Thursday.

Seemingly scrambling to make visit plans to Alabama over the last few weeks, Leonard Fournette and Jermaine Roberts have finally set a date to see Tuscaloosa.

Tomorrow.

"Yes sir," Fournette confirmed soon after internet chatter picked up Wednesday evening.

Scout's No. 1 overall prospect, Fournette, has been on radar for some time, but hasn't been to Alabama nearly as much as he's been to nearby LSU. Most consider the Tigers the favorite in the race for the 6-foot-2, 227-pounder out of New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine High.

Teammate Jermaine Roberts is a three-star cornerback with several considerable offers, including one from the defending champs.

Both prospects are high on the Tide as well, so the visit is big in the recruitment of each. The duo was originally scheduled to visit over the weekend, but they had a track and field obligation.

The next opening was this coming weekend as Alabama's spring practice opens, but each signed up for a camp instead.

The last-second visit could prove big for one, or even both in a package deal. When talking about committing, Roberts informed BamaMag the following.

"I don't know...maybe soon."

"I just want to talk to my position coach and see what he would like me to do..." he added.

BamaMag.com and Scout.com will have all the latest with both Fournette and Roberts following their visit to Tuscaloosa.
