Former Miami assistant and current Alabama director of football operations Joe Pannunzio has reportedly not received a notice of allegations regarding any rules violations he may have committed while coaching at UM.

After two years of investigating alleged rules violations from booster Nevin Shapiro, the University of Miami received its notice of allegations from the NCAA Tuesday.

Several former Miami coaches are named in the NCAA’s notice of allegations, but it’s unknown if that list includes former Hurricanes assistant and current Alabama director of football operations, Joe Pannunzio.

Before joining the Crimson Tide’s staff in 2011, Pannunzio spent five years at Miami as the tight ends/special teams coordinator (2006-10). The Hurricanes made four bowl appearances in his five years in Coral Gables.

In an email, University Relations spokesperson Debbie Lane said that "UA has not received any communications from the NCAA regarding Joe Pannunzio or the NOA issued to Miami."

According to Yahoo! Sports investigative reporter Charles Robinson, who broke the Shapiro story two years ago, Pannunzio had “a close relationship with Shapiro and facilitated the booster having improper contact with recruits.”

According to Robinson’s report, Pannunzio called Shapiro and arranged to have a offensive line recruit Matt Patchan and his family brought to the booster’s home in the summer of 2007 for a tour, while Shapiro gave a recruiting pitch. Other Miami players were reportedly on the visit, too. Jeff Stoutland, the former Miami and Alabama offensive line coach who just recently accepted the same position with the Philadelphia Eagles, was also in attendance.
