Derrick Henry

As expected, nine new football players, including two interesting walk-ons, have enrolled at The University of Alabama and will be able to participate in spring practice for the Crimson Tide.

The new enrollees at Alabama include three quarterbacks. The group also includes two offensive linemen with extra experience.

The quarterbacks are led by five-star Cooper Bateman, 6-3, 202, from Murray, Utah (Cottonwood High). Another quarterback who will sign with Bama on February 6, but who is already taking classes, is Parker McLeod, 6-3, 190, from Marietta, Ga. (Walton). Luke Del Rio, a 6-2, 200-pound quarterback from Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Valor Christian), is a walk-on candidate who has enrolled.

Offensive line is an area where Alabama has several losses with center Barrett Jones, guard Chance Warmack, and tackle D.J. Fluker all headed to the NFL and Kellen Williams having graduated and possibly not returning. The early enrollees for the spring semester include Leon Brown, a 6-6, 313-pound junior from Riverdale, Md., via ASA College in New York, and Brandon Hill, 6-6, 350, from Collierville, Tenn., via Hargrave Academy in Virginia.

Two of the highest-ranked prospects include running back Derrick Henry, 6-3, 242, from Yulee, Fla., and tight end O.J. Howard, 6-5, 225, from Autuga Academy in Prattville. Henry and Howard. Henry is a five-star prospect that is ranked as the No. 4 running back by Scout.com. Howard is the No. 1 tight end nationally by Scout.com.

Wide receiver Raheem Falkins, 6-4, 195, has entered the University out of G.W. Carver High in New Orleans.

An interesting addition is Jai Miller, a former three-star quarterback in 2003 from Selma. He originally signed with Stanford, then went into professional baseball. The 6-3, 210-pound Miller is walking on at Alabama and is listed as a defensive back.
